A Few Tips for DIY Stationery
Early on in the wedding-planning process, I decided that I wanted to design our stationery myself. We didn?t want anything complicated: a 4″ x 6″ invitation with square corners would be fine by us.

I figured this was a DIY project that I could tackle as I have some professional design experience. I?m happy to report that this project was a success and not ?DI-whyyyy am I doing this to myself.?
Are you thinking of designing your own invitations from scratch" Here are my tips.
Be realistic.
Take a moment to think about your comfort level when it comes to design and the kind of invitations you want. Will you actually enjoy designing your own invitations" Do you ultimately want something complicated (like laser-cut designs)" When in doubt, save yourself the stress and hire a pro. Patience is key.
It might take more time than you expect to get your stationery right. I went through several iterations of our save the dates and invitations before Mr. Horseshoe and I were happy. Once I had the design finalized, I still spent hours trying to perfect little things like spacing, font sizing, etc. Budget at least five to six hours of design time per piece of stationery, and split your time over a few days.
