A Filipino wedding at Coqui Coqui Valladolid in Mexico
Paulina + Clark met at a college birthday party, when a group of their friends set out on a mission to get them two to meet. (So cute!) When it came to their wedding in Mexico, they wanted to reflect their Filipino heritage while honoring the Yucatán location?complete with a ceremony at Coqui Coqui La PerfumerĂa followed by a reception at Coqui Coqui MesĂłn de Malleville. It was the perfect marriage of their heritage, their location, and their love of travel (they are based in Australia, too!) and new experiences?all with 70 guests to share it with.

Paulina says, We brought in beautiful handwoven fans and table runners from the Philippines that were custom made for us (contemporary versions of our traditional banig). We chose rich and vivid colors for our flowers, wine goblets, stationery and our dress code, to reflect the beautiful colonial houses in the town of Valladolid. We called our dress code ‘fiesta formal’ to sort of just lend it a name that our guests could use to grasp the vibe we were after. Everyone came in formal wear, in tones of terra cotta, lilac and yellow. It was truly a sight to behold from where my husband and I stood at the ceremony.
