While there is no *exact* definition of the term, it typically is held the day before actual Thanksgiving (so on a Wednesday), with all of your best pals! However, for those that don’t have family nearby, or perhaps those who just want to celebrate with friends and be thankful + merry, it could take place anytime around Thanksgiving (can we vote for a year-round Friendsgiving") The first mention of the word was in 2009 (shout-out to Urban Dictionary) – and there it was described to be popular among college students who couldn’t travel home due to a lack of funds or their work schedule… Thus Friendsgiving was born. But we’re pretty sure it’s been going on way, WAY longer than that!
