a majestic fur and ice shoot | uk wedding blog

Hello all! Something a little different this morning. Kerry submitted this gorgeous shoot a fair few weeks ago and I have been so looking forward to sharing it. Kerry and I often discuss larger brides and the underrepresentation of them on blogs and in magazines. To be honest, it is not because we chose not to feature a curvy bride or editorial, it is simply that we aren’t inundated with submissions, so I thought it was very refreshing when this dropped in to my inbox. My favourite thing about this shoot is the flower covered fur muff. What an amazing team of suppliers, all credits listed below. I hope you enjoy!

The photo-shoot was inspired by my parents wedding over 40 years ago, when, rather than carry flower posies, my mum chose a fabric muff (made by my Grandma) embellished with fresh blooms. The idea then took on a wintery feel, incorporating lavish faux furs and crystal embellishments with a palette of soft ivory, taupe, frosty whites and silver.Â
As much as I love styled shoots, they can often be so creative, so lavish, that it becomes difficult for couples to envisage how they can re-create the look for their own day. While we have incorporated a lot of luxury elements in this shoot, it continues to be one which is both inspirational and realistically achievable.
Our venue was the stunning Ashfield House in Standish, Lancashire. An elegant venue with a luxury country mansion feel, combining classic period features...
