Remember when I talked about how overwhelmed I was in the month previous to my wedding" Well, the absolute worst of it was all crammed into the week before. Murphy would be so proud to see his law standing up to its reputation.
Let me spoil this and tell you that everything ended up fine, but I came the tiiiiiinest bit close to not being able to wear it. I am perfectly aware this was among the stupidest decisions I ever made, but two weeks before my wedding I dropped my dress off at the cleaners. I know, I know. But I bought a sample, and it definitely needed a good once-over. Due to the fitting schedules, I simply couldn?t get it in any sooner. We picked it up a little over a week before our wedding, took it home, and of course tried it on immediately. And?my dress WOULD NOT fit. I?m definitely a stress eater and hadn?t been eating the best, and I?m still convinced something shrunk at the cleaners! Mama Dreamcatcher simply COULD NOT make it zip. In fact, when she tried to hook the top it actually snapped the hook. Ugh. In addition to the dress not zipping, we quickly realized the lace was falling off in MANY places on the bodice. I didn?t think to take pictures…but it was really bad. Here?s a closeup of the lace after repairs…imagine literally chunks of it hanging on by two tiny threads of tulle.
Almost all the lace at the bottom was ripped off the ruffle.
