A Romantic Countryside Wedding in Provence Family Brings Families Together in Shades of Blue and Blush
From the bride, Lisa:
“Pierre and I are both bi-national and have friends and family scattered all over the world. We wanted to use our wedding as an excuse to get everyone together in one place for a few days to relax and celebrate. We wanted a place that felt comfortable, where we wouldn’t feel rushed, and where we could stay up all night dancing – which we did.
We decided to get married in Provence because we both have family nearby, and we both love the relaxed while sophisticated feeling of that part of France. (Oh, and Provençal food!) The color palette and style came naturally out of the venue we chose and the natural landscape. Our dear friends from Vermont hosted a Japanese tea ceremony for us during the ceremony. My mom, who is an ordained pastor, officiated the marriage. My personal style choices for the wedding stemmed from Pierre’s choice of engagement ring. Pierre commissioned the sculptural jeweler, Lisa Linhardt, to create a custom engagement ring for me that was architectural deco with a contemporary twist. The ring is stunning, and was the basis for the custom wedding rings Lisa subsequently created for us. Lisa also creates exquisite, bold editorial pieces and agreed to rent some of her editorial jewelry to me for the wedding. For my dress, I knew I wanted a dress that was minimal and modern, but with weight and movement in the same vein of Lisa Linhardt’s sculptural jewelry. After I chose the dress, L...
