A Statement on the Beauty of Simplicity

We often appreciate nature while we are in deep woods or on mountain tops, but we lose that connection once we return to our busy lives. As we put this clean and slightly retro Japanese editorial together, we want to invite nature into our living space. It allows us to pause for a second and recognize the seasonal changes.
This editorial focuses on the beauty of simplicity and a vision of connecting nature with both the modern and traditional elements. The clean lines, neutral color palette, and delicate spring blooms are the focus of the shoot.  The freshly cut white orchid tree blossoms and the white quince take center stage of this editorial and are the representation of the beauty of the season. The sayuri sake poured into the soapstone sake set with white quince floating on top is where modernism meet the tradition elements and create harmony. Together with the sleek hair style, the natural makeup with a touch of pink lips match perfectly with the simple dresses; it gives the viewer a sense of minimalism and modernism.  Lastly, the Japanese hand-calligraphed characters ?""?written on traditional rice paper means a spring day; which highlights what this editorial is all about: a spring day in the living space.
