When most people think of a State Capitol wedding, they probably think of a small elopement or a private civil ceremony. But Liliana and Cesar’s Texas State Capitol wedding included 250 guests for some not-so-traditional courthouse “I do’s.” With the help of planner XO Moreau Weddings, the couple turned the House Chambers into a romantic backdrop using only burgundy and ivory florals from Stems Floral Design to enhance the natural beauty of the space.
After tying the knot, the newlyweds, accompanied by Mariachi Relampago, held their first dance in the Capitol’s rotunda, surrounded by hundreds–talk about a memorable detail. We love that they continued the party at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt, where they drank, danced, and enjoyed a cake replica of the Texas Capitol building created by Michelle’s Patisserie. Oh, and did we mention that this was the first Hispanic couple to say their vows in the State Capitol" There’s nothing like making memories and history.
