When Katie and Wes married on September 17th 2016, they showed just how much they love each other and their closest friends and family by creating and throwing the party to end all parties. In the lead-up to their day, they worked tirelessly to set up a celebration that beautifully displayed their character as a couple. They love the outdoors, adventure, having fun and being laid-back and their wedding was a crystal-clear reflection of those passions and attributes. Timberlake Earth Sanctuary in North Carolina made perfect sense as their venue for both the ceremony and reception, as it magnificently shows off the beauty of nature. The bride and groom tied the knot in a quiet woodland clearing underneath a decorated wooden arbour with soft draped white fabric, fresh florals, greenery and a blackboard sign saying ?With my whole heart for my whole life”. It was sublime. Honestly, there are too many unbelievably clever DIY projects to mention, so I will highlight my must-see favourites. Firstly, Katie MADE her lace wedding dress with sleeves and a floral belt that incorporated part of her grandmother?s bridal gown. The couple crafted the blackboard signs, the bird feeder wedding favours, the photo booth (!), the ribbon ?wands? for guests to wave at the ceremony and much, much more.
