Caleb and I are both in luxury hospitality and know first-hand how impersonal a wedding in the U.S. can sometimes be. So we gathered our immediate family and a couple friends, and the ten of us headed for the Amalfi Coast for a week-long, elopement-style celebration.
Aside from the photography, the music, and our officiant, everything was in-house through our gracious hosts, Michela and Nicola Cuomo, owners of Agriturismo Sant’Alfonso (a converted 17th-century monastery and farmhouse) in the village of Furore along the Amalfi Coast. Their staff took care of us the entire week leading up to the ceremony, which was already amazing in every way possible. On our wedding day, they completely out-did themselves: from the flowers, to the six-course dinner with the freshest ingredients from the region, it was an absolute dream! The intimacy of having ten people allowed us to enjoy one another’s company throughout dinner, and well into the evening. Our Neapolitan duo provided us with exceptional classic Italian music early in the evening. However once dinner concluded the speakers died, leaving us without music.
