Birds of a Feather Flock Together: The Proposal

The worst thing about having to move, besides leaving a familiar house, job, and good friends, is that you usually can?t plan when it?s going to happen. Suddenly you find all your stuff in boxes, and WHAM, you?re in a new city before you can even blink or change the mailing address on your credit cards.
If Mr. Feather were a prescription drug (OK, just go with me on this one), one of the side effects listed on the bottle would definitely be ?sudden movement?across the country.? And that?s how we found ourselves knee-deep in boxes, without a couch, and making multiple IKEA runs a month this past December.
Once January rolled around, most of our stuff had been put away, we?d bought and assembled a new couch, and we had stopped obsessively visiting IKEA like it was our second home. I began to drop a few not-so-subtle hints that now might finally be a good time to propose. Mr. Feather usually replied that I needed to buy boots first.
