Blooms for Your ‘Do

By the time I started looking into hairstyle options for the big day, my dress was ordered, the venues were booked, and I was deep into working on the smaller details. I lined up a hair/makeup artist pretty early in my search thanks to a recommendation from our landlady, who is also a professional hair/makeup artist. The bigger problem was going to be what I would ask her to do with my unruly mess of hair.

My hair without any products or styling can best be described as pre-makeover Anne Hathaway from the first Princess Diaries movie. It?s curly but temperamental, even with gel, and takes a good hour-plus if I want to straighten it and have it not look frizzy in spots. It does hold a curl well, if I can get it straight and then have the time to curl it the way I like it.
I knew from the start that I wanted to allude to our outdoor venue in some way with a hairpiece or crown. Flower crowns were an obvious first place to start.

Unfortunately, I think my hairline is too high for a flower crown to look good. It would either be perched super high on my head or pulled down so far on my forehead that it would be covering half my face. It also doesn?t really fit with my dress, which has a more classic look and fit instead of the boho style that meshes so well with flower crowns.
