At last, I?m going to circle back around to the topic of bridesmaids’ dresses—specifically, mismatched ones. You?ve probably guessed by now that my tips for pulling off mismatched dresses didn?t just come from listening to advice from other brides. They came a little bit from my experience.
After I asked MOH R to be my matron of honor, her next question was what I wanted her to wear. Since we can?t go shopping together in person, I put together a Pinterest board of inspiration. Her favorite color is pink, so I decided to play to my audience a bit.

However, I completely neglected to dictate anything else about the dress, like length or material. My exact words were something like ?pick a blush, gold, or pastel colored dress.? Boom. Done, right" Well?kind of. After I asked Friend W to join the wedding party, I sent her the same Pinterest board and the same instructions and told her to work it out with MOH R to make sure they matched.
That was a good idea in theory, until I realized that there was a possibility they would pick dresses that didn?t match. And I wasn?t sure how I felt about that idea. It would?ve been fine, it?s not like the universe will forbid you from getting married if your bridesmaids don?t match. I was still a little irrationally worried about it.
