Bosom Buddies: Optional Rules of the Wedding Party

You know what I love about getting married in 2016" A lot of ?traditions? are fairly optional anymore. Nowadays, there isn?t a ton of side-eye for less-than-typical bridal parties, like ours. Thankfully, many brides and grooms before me have paved the way, making uneven numbers and various genders pretty common. From my last post you can gather I have two ?bridesmen,? which is simply my male version of a bridesmaid. Microscope and Coaster have been two of my best friends since elementary school. We were pretty cool kids.
You?re welcome for those embarrassing awesome pictures. These gentlemen are two of the most important men in my life, and giving them a special role in our wedding was very important to me.
I just had to ponder a moment how exactly to incorporate them. What side should they stand on" Should they wear something different from the the rest of the groomsmen" Where should they get ready" Should they be in all the bridesmaid pictures" There are literally endless possibilities! While talking it over with Mr. Dreamcatcher, he mentioned he would love it if my boys stood on his side because he considers them dear friends as well. Side note: This was one of those moments of clarity…as we merge our lives together, we are merging friends, family, etc. so that everything is “ours,” not “mine and yours.” We will never be one of those couples that HAS to do everything together, but naturally without 400 miles betwee...
