Did you know that backyard weddings don’t necessarily have to be informal, casual, or slapped together" That’s right – a backyard wedding can be just as chic as any ballroom affair, and Andrew and Elizabeth’s stunning outdoor wedding in Washington is the perfect example. When the couple set out to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted a simple and chic party that felt a little “messy.” Vashon Island, where the bride grew up, provided the perfect backdrop with lush greenery that grows wild over the island and panoramic views of the water. They enlisted the help of talented planners and designers Sinclair & Moore, who brought “simple and chic” together perfectly on the property where the bride grew up.
The ceremony was held on the lawn of Elizabeth’s childhood home, overlooking the Puget Sound, and afterward, guests were invited into a beautifully designed reception on the property. The couple chose a neutral color palette of white and grey with pops of natural green and the gorgeous, natural florals to bring their vision to life. While green and white is always a popular color palette for wedding flowers, we can’t get enough of the fresh feel that this design has. Nor can we get enough of the amazing jumpers Elizabeth chose for her bridesmaids; a testament to her incredible sense of style!
