DIY Wedding Details
When I started the wedding planning process, I had big plans when it came to DIY…I was going to do the cake, the flowers, the decor, the favors, signs, and even the invitations. And honestly, if I had another six months, or a less hectic work schedule, that’d still be the plan.
But the closer I get to the wedding, the more I find myself thinking: Life’s too short to make yourself crazy. It’s worth just paying someone to do it right.
Plus, I’ve got Mr. W and my dad (can we call him Reverend Dad now") telling me the same thing—let it go. It’s not worth it.
Now, this isn’t to say DIY can’t be stunning—but to make them look amazing, you’ve got to invest in materials, time, and personal sanity.  Whenever I think of a DIY done right, Mrs. Squid’s AMAZING invitations come to mind…I mean, SERIOUSLY"

But I know myself—and I know my tendency to be overambitious. So I’m trying to rein it in and settle on a reasonable balance. Otherwise I’ll be frantic at the last minute, things won’t look as polished, and things will fall through the cracks. Here’s where I’m at:
