Kilim Rug for Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
Way, way back in February, Mr. Feather and I spent a sunny afternoon walking around Volunteer Park looking for the perfect spot to put our ceremony. We found a few options, but none of them felt quite right, so we decided to put that decision on the back burner and take another walk through the park in the spring.
Thankfully, our photographer Angela has a much better eye for this sort of thing than we do. Last week, we met her at the park to search for a spot that was interesting to look at, shady, and away from the heavy bus/car traffic on a nearby road. It only took us about 15 minutes of wandering (not counting in the time we spent staring at some newly hatched ducklings!) to find this little grove of trees.

Once we decided this was the spot, Angela and I started chatting about options for a little bit of added decoration. Mr. Feather and I had considered keeping it simple and just adding 60 natural wood chairs to the above photo and calling it a day, but I have a bit of free time coming up and the desire to add a few small touches to enhance the space.
While I was scrolling through looking for inspiration for what to do with an outdoor ceremony site, I stumbled across a few photos featuring Middle Eastern looking rugs. A few quick Google searches later led me to discover that what I was seeing is called a kilim rug.
