Dressing the Ladies

Mismatched Burgundy Bridesmaids Dresses
Or more accurately, this post should be titled “trusting them to dress themselves,” because I’m going the mix-and-match bridesmaids’ dress route.
Both MOH K and Bridesmaid S have crazy good senses of style…and incredibly different body types. And how many dresses out there look good on a 5’11” athletic build and a 4’11” slim but super-busty build" Probably about two. In the whole world.
And I want both of the ladies (and everyone at the wedding, for that matter) to feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable—in my mind, that’s more important than “a look” or “a wedding vision.” So once we’d nailed down the venue (and they’d agreed to stand up with me) I got to thinking—what color scheme would look good on both of them" I initially thought gold—but my sister doesn’t love the way she looks in gold. And we talked about dark green, but I worried it would wash S out if we couldn’t find a great shade. Now, a lot of the accents in our venue are a rich dark red/burgundy/wine color…one of those colors that looks good on everyone.
And that settled it: They’re picking dresses in the burgundy/wine/berry family, and I’m paying for them (or up to $200 of them, if they want something more expensive). It can be long, it can be short—hell, it can be pants. I want them to feel AWESOME.
