There is an unmistakable sense of elegance about the way that weddings are hosted in the South. This North Carolina wedding played up some Southern traditions (including a bluegrass band!) with a classic design that leaves us wanting nothing. Beautiful gowns, lush white and green florals, and a stunning reception in the mountains were the ingredients to this amazing.

“Sean and I love Highlands, NC as it reminds us of Canmore, Alberta where we first met. After Sean proposed, we knew we wanted to get married there and share this treasure of a town with our family and friends. We are both originally from Canada, and we had a lot of guests travelling from the “Great White North.” We wanted to ensure that they had the best time in the North Carolina mountains experiencing food, drinks, and music that were traditional to the South. The bluegrass band, Nitrograss, played mountain music throughout the cocktail hour and dinner, then a DJ played our favorite songs as we danced the night away. Sean and I hardly left the dance floor. Every detail of the day was personal and thoughtfully planned. The table numbers were marked by album covers of bands we had seen live printed on pieces of wood. The brass candlesticks that lined the head table and the crates used for escort cards were all from my late grandmother’s collection.
