Fashion and sustainability go hand in hand in this stunning shoot

While sustainability is certainly fashionable, fashion and eco-consciousness rarely go hand-in-hand. That?s why when we found out that this insanely beautiful gown by Silviyana & Community was made out of pineapple leaf fibers and recycled mulberry silk, this shoot CAPTURED our attention. As it turns out, the entire concept behind Silviyana is rooted in sustainability and ethical business practices. Each garment they create uses pineapple leaf fibers, recycled silk & cotton, and deadstock fabric.
Besides being good for the environment, this dress is good for our soul?talk about dopamine dressing! From the structured Terno sleeves inspired by the bride?s Filipino heritage to the tiered skirt and and intricate beadwork, we couldn?t take our eyes off of this radiant bride. The groom is wearing an original barong design by Silviyana that picks up all of our favorite parts of his wife?s dress. It?s also safe to say we have a new obsession, hat-veils! Rissa Shaw Studio designed and created the headpiece using faux flowers made from banana leaf fabric.
While this is technically a styled shoot. This couple are married in real life and are real Silviyana clients. Like she does with all of her clients, Seychelle (the designer and owner of Silviyana) sat down with Vanessa and Nick and got to know them each individually and then asked about their journey as a couple.
