Food Me.

Buffet dinners are a really popular menu choice in Hawaii. We love to eat and we love to eat a lot, so buffets are a natural choice. Buffets offer a wide selection of salads, meats, and starches to appease any discerning palate and satisfy all our wedding guests. I, on the other hand, don’t like buffets. Not because of the food selection or quality, but because I always feel like they are a waste of money for me. For some reason I can never eat as much at a buffet, so the ballin’ on a budget in me kicks in and I feel like I am not getting my money’s worth. If not for the cost factor where buffets here can run as high as $100 per person, I would be all for them.

For our wedding, we also considered that we will have a lot of older relatives as guests. Since our wedding venue is grassy and slightly hilly, I didn’t want our guests to have to walk back and forth to the buffet line with their plates of food. As much as our wedding is about Mr. Eel and me getting married, it’s equally about our guests relaxing, enjoying their time, and celebrating with us. Thus, even though it’s not the norm here, we decided a plated dinner would make the most sense.
The food we serve at our wedding is one of our top priorities. Mr. Eel and I live to eat, not eat to live. Since we aren’t having a buffet, we want to be sure our guests will have enough food and the food is equally delicious. A plated dinner also doesn...
