Former First Daughter Barbara Bush Marries in Private Maine Ceremony

Only 20 family members witnessed the marriage ceremony of former First Daughter Barbara Bush, daughter of 43rd President George W. Bush, and screenwriter Craig Coyne on Sunday, October 7.
The wedding was held at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In attendance were former President Bush, former First Lady Laura Bush, Barbara?s twin sister and Today anchor Jenna Bush Hager, and former President George H.W. Bush. The bride?s aunt Dorothy ?Doro? Bush Koch officiated the intimate ceremony.
Barbara wore a Vera Wang gown of ivory silk, accessorized with her namesake?s and late grandmother First Lady Barbara Bush?s bracelet. ?It?s really sweet. The ?something borrowed? that I?m wearing is this bracelet that my grandfather gave to my grandmother on their 70th anniversary,? Barbara said to People magazine. But that?s not the only tie Barbara and her new husband have to her grandparents — they got engaged this summer on the same oceanside rocks where her grandparents were also engaged, 75 years earlier in August 1943. ?It?s been a very sweet romance. And we?ve been long-distance for most of it — he?s been in LA and I?ve been in New York — but we?ve gotten to spend a lot of time together,? Barbara said. The couple was set up on a blind date by friends last November and committed as a couple by New Year?s Eve.
