Lace Fit and Flare Wedding Gowns
I actually bought my dress pretty early on—I think I was scared if I didn’t buy it right away it wouldn’t come in time. I mean, we’ve all heard the horror stories about a dress taking MONTHS to come or needing major alterations.
And I’m someone who would rather be five hours early than five minutes late, so I went ahead and got dress shopping almost as soon as we picked a venue. Honestly, I hoped it would make things feel a little more real—but I still don’t think I have that “OMG I’m the bride” thing.
I’m a pretty decisive shopper, so I thought picking the dress would be easy, but it ended up taking four VERRRRY patient friends, and quite a few reject dresses.
Now, I didn’t know what I wanted going into dress shopping, but I knew what I didn’t want. I had a list:
Nothing white-white
Nothing poufy
Nothing see through
Nothing ugly
Nothing over the top
No ball gowns
No strapless
Of course, when I asked Mr. Wishbone what he was into (and showed him dresses online), he gravitated toward elaborate strapless mermaids. And the dress I picked" He didn’t like it on the website. But I’m OK with it, and he LOVES it in person (clearly, no superstition here).
