Happily Feather After: Pictures in the Park

Park Wedding Portraits
On the drive to the park, with my Uncle L at the wheel and MOH R and Bridesmaid A chilling in the backseat, I felt my excitement growing. Mostly because I was going to be reunited with Mr. Feather, which I was pretty sure was the key to helping me relax and unwind before we got into our ceremony.
We didn’t want to make a big deal out of our first look, so we did it quickly outside the park’s conservatory. I had never seen Mr. Feather’s suit together with his rentals (tie + vest), so it was kind of an exciting moment for me too. I remember a lot of nervous laughter and I’m-crying-no-I’m-not-crying moments.
After that, we wandered around the park and got some pictures together and with our wedding party.
This was one of my favorite shots of the day and one of the reasons why I’m glad we picked Volunteer Park for our ceremony. Hard to believe we were a 10 minute drive from downtown Seattle and a quick three-minute walk from the parking lot.
You can’t tell from these photos, but it was a busy day in the park. The weather was perfect, mid-seventies and sunny, and there were a ton of families picnicking, people walking their dogs, even a bunch of little kids with a lemonade stand. All of my fears about the weather ended up not coming true, which was a huge, huge relief.
I felt a lot less nervous after taking this little walk. We finished our family photos right on time, I took a memorable trip to a slightly grub...
