Horseshoes Get Hitched: Modern Barn Wedding with Rustic Details
Before I get into the nitty-gritty of our reception, I have to highlight some of the design and decor details of our wedding. We ended up embracing our rustic garden barn party motif, and it turned out really well. A thousand thank yous go to Sonia of Enriched Events for beautifully executing our vision. Sonia was our day-of and design/decor coordinator, and she knocked it out of the park. She is a hilarious, ever calm and cheerful individual?it was an absolute pleasure working with Sonia on our wedding.
Mr. Horseshoe and I DIYed quite a few things for our wedding: our signs, paper flowers, ceremony garland, and favours. See our DIY posts here and here for more information. We then rented or purchased the rest of our decor. Heritage Park supplied us with table and glassware, round and rectangular tables, chairs, and linens. We chose ivory for both our tablecloths and napkins. The beautiful wooden chairs are part of the reason we chose this venue?we didn’t have to worry about renting chairs as they were already perfect. We did have to pay a chair setup fee (I believe it was $2 per chair), but it was worth it.

We rented navy chevron table runners and gold charger plates for our table settings. Sonia rented us her spectacular collection of vintage bud vases, and our florist provided us with loose flowers and greens to go in the vases.
