I’d like to say that Mr. Horseshoe and I enjoyed a good night’s sleep before our wedding, but we were both too jittery to really get some rest. It was good excitement, though.
Bleary eyed and not at all bushy tailed, I dragged myself out of bed in order to shower, scarf down some breakfast, and get to the salon pronto. Mr. Horseshoe’s morning wasn’t quite as harried—he had a few hours to relax before he started getting ready.
I met my bridesmaids, henceforth known as “Team Awesome,” at the salon. I’d like to say that I was cool and collected, but I was a bundle of raw nerves. Thanks go out to Team Awesome for helping me feel a lot more grounded. Bridesmaid S pressed a card into my hands in which she expressed how thankful she was for our friendship, and how honoured she was to be standing beside me on my wedding day. Bees, I’ve got some extraordinary friends. An hour and a half later (and right on schedule!), we were all done with our hair and on our way to get dressed and apply our makeup. We all decided to go the DIY route and everyone looked amazing—no regrets there. All told, it took us all about an hour to put on our makeup. Perfect timing as our photographer arrived and it was time for me to put on my dress.
