Indie Portland meets Maui wedding
Here’s a wedding theme you didn’t know you loved: Portland-meets-Maui. It’s like tropical, indie goodness all wrapped into one. Myles + Chris are both creatives in the wedding industry (she’s a photog, he’s a musician, and they’re in a band together) who brought their indie style to Hawaii to tie the knot. They enlisted Maui photog Wendy Laurel to work her film magic and enjoyed a whole week of relaxation at Royal Lahaina Resort with 10 of their closest fam + friends. They even put together a post-wedding ocean portrait sesh in the bride’s grandparents’ wedding clothes…

Myles says, We?ve seen all kinds of weddings but the most important part of the wedding for us was spending quality time with our family. Everyone stayed there for about a week so it was more like a vacation than a wedding? As I was researching Maui, the town of Lahaina kept popping up as a fun place to go so we ended up booking a resort on the West side of the island close to the town. Royal Lahaina Resort was perfect because it was quiet and not crowded at all. It also had a wedding package that included pretty much everything, and the ceremony site overlooked the ocean. It just seemed to be exactly what we needed.
