Charleston has a sophistication that resides within the juxtaposition of antebellum, colonial revival architecture and the wild landscape of the Lowcountry.
For this styled shoot, we wanted design elements that tied into the surroundings and complemented rather than competed with the live oaks, Spanish moss, and lush scenery. Natural pampas grasses, bleached greenery, and smilax vines beckon to the natural surroundings. Garden roses and blush ranunculus are intertwined, representing the classic southern wedding: tradition, history, and grandeur.
Our shoot features a real, engaged couple, and their love for each other is palpable in every image. We were at the mercy of Mother Nature as the unpredictable pop-up rainstorms came and went throughout the afternoon, although you wouldn?t notice from the light-filled images that were captured. The bistro chairs, stone urn centerpieces, and olive branches incorporated into both the floral design and custom stationery are all odes to the subtle European influences on the shoot. We incorporated marble china and gilded accents for a lavish, contemporary albeit classical look. A cascade of blooms on every tier embellishes a simple white wedding cake into something luxurious.
