Hello, hive! Happy Friday. Today we’re proud to introduce our new hostess icons. These icons will be used by our hive hostesses as their avatars on the boards + their profile pictures.
Our hostesses are Weddingbee members whom we select for their friendly, welcoming tones, excellent advice-giving, and all around helpfulness. The hostess team welcomes new members, elevates topics of interest, hosts post-a-thons on the boards, and keeps our boards subcategories organized. You can spot a hive hostess based on the “Hostess” indication under their avatar.
But now, hostesses will be easier to identify based on their avatars as well, which will look like this:
These adorable icons were created by BreeAnn, our incredible illustrator who also draws our blogger icons. We tossed around several ideas (a welcome banner" a tray") but ultimately decided on the pineapple as an international symbol of hospitality to represent our hostesses (held by a bee, of course!).
Why the pineapple" For centuries now, the pineapple has been associated with the return of ships from extended voyages in the Caribbean, Europe and North America, as well as being an emblem of welcome and hospitality. The sweet, fragile fruit is a subtle indication to your guests that you went to a lot of trouble for their sake.
