Invites: A How To When You Just Don’t Care

There are parts of wedding planning that some people care about and others put less thought into. Some people think the dress deserves all the attention, and they just can’t care about centerpieces. For others, the food is super important and the photography is second. For me, thing I can’t bring myself to care about is invites.
I know people say the invitations are like the first view people get of your wedding, and they set the tone and formality of the event. And I like looking at other people’s invites. But honestly, it’s paper. I’ve never kept an invite in my life, and I don’t remember what any of them even looked like. I just can’t bring myself to have any emotion toward them aside from “ugh, we need invites.” So I did what anyone would do, and set a super low budget, picked one off Etsy, and printed them off at Staples. After picking them up, I decided to add a border to it and got some card stock to cut and glue to it, plus some matching envelopes, and called it a day.
So this is our basic invite:

I printed them on ivory paper, and each will be attached to a piece of gold card stock. The envelopes are blue because they were on sale at Staples. We also bought the thank you card that matches, and included a map, an RSVP card, and a details card with the invite. I’ll add a details photo once more people have received them.
