It’s Been 365 Days.

Just as quickly as our wedding day came and went, so did the first year of being married! Mr. Walrus is not an emotional type of guy, and the fact that he looked at me this morning and said “Damnnnn, Dayna [in his Damnnnnn Daniel voice], we’ve been married a year today. Time is flying.” Just a year ago Mr. Walrus and I were standing in front of our friends and family and promised to love one another for the rest of our lives.

So far we’ve done a pretty good job at living up to our vows. I live every day with a high regard to the fact that it’s not just “myself” anymore. Decisions are now made together, which is sometimes difficult for a gal like myself who has never really had to answer to anyone since graduating college and moving out on my own.
Over the past year, we have traveled; gone to friends’ weddings; gone to many Michigan football games, Lions games, and Tigers games; had tons of barbecues with friends (even in the dead of winter); talked about getting an addition to our family (a puppy); and set goals for things we would like to accomplish personally and as a couple.
Our first year of marriage was not always easy, as we still had to learn one another’s quirks since we had only moved in together just a month before the wedding. But nothing a quick conversation couldn’t resolve.
