Pre Wedding Events
It seems that weddings these days are often much more than just a ceremony and reception. Welcome dinners and bridesmaid brunches and after-parties and farewell breakfasts—behold, the ?wedding weekend? has arrived, in style! I suspect it?s at least partially related to the fact that so many more people travel for weddings these days, but I also just kind of like the multi-day royal event feel. Very Game of Thrones-y.
Nerding out over the best TV show ever aside, making sure our out-of-town guests had a great time was certainly a leading factor in our decision to schedule a few events around our actual wedding. A significant number of our friends are coming in from other states, so we decided our bachelor/ette parties might be most convenient adjacent to the wedding weekend. Therefore, on the Thursday before we get married, Benjamin and his squad are planning on attending a basketball game in Chicago and then going out in the city; while I felt the only place I wanted to spend my bachelorette was?wait for it?Milwaukee!

Milwaukee is AWESOME. It?s low-key but also has a really decent foodie scene happening right now; it?s only an hour drive away from us; and most of all, I absolutely LOVE their numerous craft breweries. So the girls and I will be doing some beer-tasting and tours on Thursday afternoon, having a nice dinner, and then it?s back to Chicago in the morning.
