Small Bridal Party
Wedding party, I mean.
Once we’d nailed down a date, a venue, and the like, we got down to picking the wedding party—and honestly, it was a pretty easy decision…at least for me.
We both knew we wanted to keep it small…no 10-person parties for us. And we both had family members we wanted to include. What we ended up with was an even-but-uneven bridal party that works perfectly for us.
The Bride’s Side
Maid of Honor: My younger sister, K. She’s my only sister, and while we weren’t the closest as kids, I truly cherish our relationship as adults, and I couldn’t be more proud of the woman she’s grown into. It’s her first time being a maid of honor, and apparently she’s already working on a speech—which I’m hoping my bridesmaid will proofread for embarrassing stories first.
Bridesmaid: I’ve actually known S longer than I’ve known my own sister—we’ve been friends since we were in diapers, and our parents still live within a few blocks of each other. We live 1,500 miles apart, but every time we see each other, we pick up like we left off—it’s the most natural friendship on the planet. Bonus: She’s close to my sister as well.
