Let Them Eat Cakes (Eight, That Is): Wedding Cake Buffet
Guys, I finally did it. I picked a wedding cake. Or rather, I picked wedding cakes. Eight of them, to be exact.
As you may remember, I was having a harrrrd time picking the cake. Blame it on my pastry-chef past—it’s not easy putting down a few hundred bucks on something I could do myself (and could do better, in some instances).
But believe it or not, we nailed down flavors—without EVER tasting the cake.
How" Well, I trusted my dad, mom, and sister to do it. And one day, my dad and sis went on a cake tasting, brought back leftovers for my mom, and sent Mr. W and me a VERY detailed email regarding each flavor, along with this shot of the tasting cupcakes.

They had nothing but nice things to say about all the flavors except one (red velvet, which neither Mr. W nor I enjoys), and they have good taste—and great taste buds—so we used their best judgment.
And since neither of us is attached to the idea of having one wedding cake, we’re doing a cake buffet—eight cakes total, plus the delicious fried peach-plum and apple hand pies we tried at the catering tasting.
