Location, Location, Location: Picking a Site for Engagement Photos

After locking down our photographer, my next step was getting Mr. Feather and myself booked for engagement photos. I proposed to Mr. Feather that we try to find an outdoor location, ideally the kind of place that we would have chosen to get married if we?d decided to do a super small wedding (>10 people) or an elopement. But first, there was one indoor Seattle site that I couldn?t shake from my mind.

I?ve had a love affair with the Seattle Public Library since I first laid eyes on it in an article about its designer, Rem Koolhaas. I finally got the chance to see it in person when Mr. Feather and I took a trip to Seattle last summer to visit Friend A. It was everything I expected and more: beautiful, rising ceilings, weird hallways, and brightly lit escalators. The whole building gives you an intense feeling of unrest, like you might accidentally topple off a balcony or get sucked into a red wormhole.
