Losing My Mind: Getting Organized!

Not to sound like a broken record, but beginning the wedding-planning process can be SO overwhelming…it felt like I was “Losing My Mind,” like the wonderful song from the musical Follies. Here are what the Dreamcatchers did to get ourselves organized!

1. Make a wedding email address. This was probably the absolute best tip I received. Having a dedicated place where all wedding-related correspondence occurred saved me a lot time and frustration. Plus, if you go to bridal expos of any kind you?ll start getting tons of spam and inquiry emails that you most likely won?t want in your normal inbox. Because I?m an organizing freak champion, I made folders within my inbox for categories like photography, videography, decor, stationery, etc. It may be excessive…but I even have sub folders inside those, like ?Gifts? which has three folders under it, ?Bridal party gifts,? ?Parent gifts,? and ?Registry info.? I like organizing things…what can I say" I can find any email in approximately three seconds.
2. Make a wedding binder. I know that we live in the digital age, but there?s something about crossing off a task from a paper list that makes me happy. I like having paper copies of things because it helps me keep everything straight, as opposed to keeping it all in email attachments. My binder has colored tabs that separate each section. Within each section I put all related materials: inspiration pictures, receipts, contracts, ...
