This week I had my hair and makeup trial! I had a lot of fun doing it, and it made me really excited to put everything together on my wedding day. I actually had my dress fitting the same day, which gave me a chance to be in bride mode for most of the day.
My hair and makeup are being done by a friendor who is a girl on my roller derby team. She’s pretty good at what she does, and I love that I have someone I can be honest with what I like and don’t like and we can work together to create the look I want.
So this is what I started with. Just me, without makeup and my hair as it comes out of my head. I’m going to apologize for the yellow tint in some of the photos—my kitchen has horrible lighting, and I struggled to get good photos in it. My bathroom photos show the true colors a bit better. We had chatted before hand and browsed Pinterest, and we came up with a polished twisted updo. We also decided to use pinks and purples on my eyes.

It involved a lot of teasing!

And this is what we ended up with! I adore how my hair turned out. On the day of, we’ll be doing a bit bigger on the bun and slightly higher on my head so there is more room for my veil at the bottom of it. The pouf on the top will also be slightly less, as I felt very much like I was going to a beauty pageant in Texas.
