In an earlier blog post, I mentioned that when Mr. Eel and I were first engaged we laid out our priorities for the wedding. One of Mr. Eel’s priorities was his wedding attire. It was important to him to have a say in what he wears, particularly his shoes. Mr. Eel’s biggest “want” for his wedding attire is to wear “Aloha Dunks.” Now if you are like me and know nothing about shoes, you are probably thinking, “What are Aloha Dunks"” Don’t worry, I asked the same question. A few clicks on the Google and I was presented with the famous Aloha Dunks.

According to sneakerfiles.com, Nike partnered with Kicks/Hi to release a special Quickstrike Dunk Low inspired by Hawaii. The Nike Dunk Low Aloha features a khaki, brown, and mean green color scheme incorporating a tropical feel with the woven design at the midsection as well as ?ALOHA? and ?HAWAII? on the tongue and heel respectively. The special Nike Dunk Low Kickshawaii Aloha were released back in 2004 releasing at select Nike retailers. Today, the Aloha Dunks range in price depending on condition, but can go as high as $300. Did you catch that about released back in 2004" These Aloha Dunks are hard to come by, and we need to find a used pair in good condition for the wedding. So far it has been a challenge to find a pair that is 1.) in good condition, 2.) authentic (apparently there are a lot of fakes), and 3.) in Mr. Eel’s size. To f...
