Amanda and Brad both grew up in Atlanta and even hung out around the same group of people without ever meeting. Years later, they eventually met in New York City – where their instant chemistry for each other turned into something serious. After dating for a fews years, and now living in Charleston, Brad proposed to Amanda one evening down at the Battery overlooking the ocean. When they first started the wedding planning process they wanted to elope somewhere in Europe. But after making the decision to relocate to New Orleans, and also having family members in the area who wouldn’t be able to travel, they took the opportunity to not only welcome all of their friends and family to their new home but to celebrate their wedding weekend there as well. They wanted their wedding to feel stylish, modern and minimalistic, but their reception and dinner to feel like an intimate, nontraditional house party. When they saw the Peristyle structure in New Orleans City Park, which is over 100 years old and has a European feel to it, they knew it was the right spot for their ceremony.
