Set in Singapore, the concept for this shoot was born out of a desire to explore tropical and minimal themes using ikebana principles. Ikebana, which means “living flowers”, allows arrangements to be designed in a life-like manner. Flowers and plants are thoughtfully arranged to be even more beautiful than when found in nature. We were inspired by the imagery of a bamboo forest growing out of the ground, and the designers brought in locally foraged bamboo to create an installation. Various ikebana arrangements were inspired by foliage native to the island. As major proponents of appreciating what?s around you, we sought to draw out the beauty of this tropical island city-state while emphasizing the beauty of a minimal, tropical bride with understated elegance. Our shoot was set in a beautiful light-filled industrial studio, providing the negative space we needed to create our vision. We styled our model in both free flowing and sleek ethereal gowns with minimal detailing; finishing off her natural and clean look with bold brows, and a sprig of lady palm to accent her simple bun. A nature inspired, champagne diamond ring was designed and crafted specifically for this shoot.
