My Kingdom for a Chair

Now that all the ?fun? parts of wedding planning (finding a venue, picking a dress, and hiring a photographer) are almost over, I?ve moved on to the less fun parts. One of those is rentals.
Fortunately, our reception venue includes place settings, chairs, tables, and linens, so I don?t need to worry about that. But when we moved our ceremony to the park, I was thrust headfirst into the wonderful world of party rentals. To be more specific: chairs.
A chair is a chair, right" Wrong. Well: Let me explain.

This is a basic, off-white folding chair. It costs about a dollar per chair to rent. Sweet, right" That?s like, $60 plus tax and delivery fee. Sold!
Well, I was sold for about 30 seconds. Then I started to think practically about how sitting on these folding chairs for 30+ minutes would feel. And I remembered complaints from family members who had to sit in unpadded chairs at baseball games and block parties. The last thing I want folks to remember about our ceremony is that it was a literal pain in the ass. Plus, cheap folding chairs are surprisingly easy to break if you open them too forcefully or sit down too hard. I figured the cost of higher quality chairs would probably pay for themselves if we ended up damaging and having to pay for, say, three cheap chairs.
So, I went one step up.
