Ocean Size Love: Salud!

After the cocktail hour and snacks, and as dinner got underway, it was time for the toasts! We started with a thank you from the two of us to our tribe for making the trip to Mexico and being there to celebrate this amazing day with us.

Instead of a champagne toast, we had our guests choose between a kamikaze or tequila shot to kick off the night. (They could, of course, choose water instead.) Kamikazes have somehow become a family drink recipe; ever since my youngest sister turned 21, my dad has become a fantastic kamikaze mixologist. This drink has made an appearance at both my older sister’s and brothers’ weddings, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate them into our reception as well.
The Kamikaze Shot
1.5 oz vodka
0.7 5oz triple sec
0.75 oz lime juice
squirt of fresh lime juice
My sisters (including my newest sister!) and Mr. Stingray?s brother all gave such amazing toasts during our reception dinner. I can?t even express how emotional and beautiful all of the speeches were. They were filled with so much love and such kind words, and they all had everyone in tears! I hadn?t heard anything from anyone about their speeches, and neither Mr. S nor I was sure anyone was planning on giving one. The surprise made them even more special.
