On Wedding Guilt

Wedding Guilt and Wedding Planning Stress
Before I finish my invites post I wanted to blog about something a little more serious that has been bothering me a lot lately. Wedding guilt. And perhaps “guilt” is not the appropriate term to describe what I am feeling, so maybe the bees can help me out.
Wedding planning has not been fun for me. As I mentioned in a previous post, it has actually been really stressful trying to coordinate all the moving pieces of having a 200-person outdoor wedding. We have to make all the big and small decisions—40′ x 40′ or 40′ x 60′ tent" White or ivory napkins" Which, honestly, sounds like a lot of fun but can become extremely stressful, especially when trying to coordinate schedules to meet with vendors, which sometimes includes having to take off from work to meet their business hours. To add to all of this, Mr. Eel started a new job at the beginning of the year and doesn’t have the flexibility that I do with working flex hours or taking a vacation day to meet with vendors. He also doesn’t have access to email during the day to handle vendor correspondence, so this juggling act is primarily on me. I 100% do not fault Mr. Eel for this; we are so grateful he got this new job and he tries to help where he can, but it ultimately puts a lot of responsibility on me.
