After a couple of chaotic weeks getting my grades in for the first semester and dealing with all the fall-out from this sad election cycle, I’m taking advantage of my LONG Thanksgiving teacher-break to come back and finish my recaps! If you’re just tuning in, we last left off at the reception with our first dance and dancing with our parents.
After the traditional first dances were over, Mr. Blue Moon and I made a speedy exit back to the bridal suite. This was a planned exit so that we could enjoy dinner privately and actually get to eat something substantial. I heard way too many horror stories of the couple never getting a bite of their wedding food due to overzealous guests and many wedding activities. Our wedding planner was kind enough to build in some time for us to eat away from the hustle and bustle of the main reception space, and I’m so glad. Meanwhile, our guests sat down for their meal. We opted for a buffet that included tossed salad with green goddess dressing, herb roasted potatoes, green beans, and fresh rolls and butter. The meat option was grilled chicken in tomato basil sauce, and the vegan option was a vegetable stir-fry.
