Our Pre-Wedding Feast

This post has been a long time in the making. I wrote a draft when I first thought I had our rehearsal dinner figured out. Then plans changed. So I rewrote. And changed plans. And rewrote.
But at last, I have our pre-wedding feast mostly figured out. After tons of Google searching, asking friends, asking neighbors, and looking at menus, the Feather rehearsal plans are pretty close to being set in stone.
Let?s go on a whirlwind tour of all the restaurants and options we explored. First up: the best dumplings I?ve had in my entire life.

Din Tai Fung is one of those places that always jumps to my mind when out-of-town guests ask for something uniquely Seattle. OK, these Taiwanese dumplings aren?t exactly local fare, but it?s one of the popular spots among our friends and one of only four US locations, all on the West Coast. The best part in my mind is that everything is designed to be shared, which makes it easy for guests to try a variety of flavors without breaking the bank. Unfortunately, Din Tai Fung doesn?t take reservations, and the average wait time for two people during a slow time is usually around 30 minutes. We?d seriously be rolling the dice if we showed up with 16 people on a Friday night in the summer and had any hope of getting a table before closing.
