Our Wedding Photographer: Strike a Pose (or Not)

Even though I know zilch about photography, it was high up on my list of wedding priorities. My level of photography knowledge basically comes down to looking at pictures and assessing whether I think they look nice. When searching for a wedding photographer, I applied this logic and looked through online portfolios for pictures I liked. This may not have been a very “expert” or “technical” method for finding a wedding photographer, but at the end of the day, Mr. Eel and I will be the ones to live with these pictures forever so they ultimately have to be what we like.
At the beginning of our search for a photographer, I told Mr. Eel that I didn’t want to spend a lot of time posing for pictures; I wanted to spend our time with our guests and truly be in the moment. Mr. Eel agreed that he would rather have pictures of us interacting with each other and our guests, as opposed to posing with them. Sure, there will need to be some posed pictures with family and friends, but our goal is to keep those to a minimum. After narrowing down our particular style for our wedding day, we decided that we needed a photographer that could capture the emotion and feeling of those candid moments.
One wedding photographer in particular stood out to me. His name is Keoni Esteban of Keoni Michael Fine Art Weddings. Not only are his pictures beautiful, but they also capture what I want our wedding day to feel like.
We met with Keoni, and our personalities ...
