Have you ever gone to a wedding where your spouse or significant other was in the wedding party at the head table and you were forced to sit by yourself" This has only happened to me once so far, and luckily it was at a wedding for Mr. Eel’s friend so I ended up at a table with his other friends.

Our wedding party consists of one maid of honor, one best man, two bridesmaids, and two groomsmen. Of the six people in our wedding party, three are married, two are engaged, and one is single. That’s a lot of couples to be splitting up. While some of their SOs would be comfortable sitting with other friends, others would barely know anyone else attending our wedding. I want our wedding party to be able to enjoy our wedding with their SOs and don’t want to split up any of the couples. Plus, since a head table is single sided, it wouldn’t allow Mr. Eel and me to talk to the other members of our wedding party throughout the reception. Since I knew a head table wouldn’t work for us, I started to look for alternative options. First up, the sweetheart table.
