I felt a whole wave of emotions when we got around to registering for knives (dramatic, I know). Before we got married, I’d been using a fairly cheap cutlery set. Frankly, they were a pathetic excuse for knives. The hollow shafts made them really light, and they always seemed to be dull. When we got to registering, I was blown away by how expensive knives could really get. We had to think hard about how important it was for us to register for chef grade knives (which could easily cost over $100 per knife!) or for us to register for a reasonably-priced set that, for our home kitchen needs, would probably suffice. Ultimately we decided to go with the more affordable route, and chose a knife set that hovered around $200. After doing a lot of research, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of knife sets we could find at this price point. To choose a good set of knives, there are a few things you need to know.
