The popular wedding inspiration website, Style Me Pretty, will be closing its doors at the end of April this year. The site will not publish any new articles after April 11 and will cease activity on their social media accounts as well.
Style Me Pretty has been an industry staple for 12 years, starting in 2007 as a wedding blog by Abby Larson. Since then the site has evolved to include user submitted photos, general lifestyle content, and an extensive global vendor list. As a big influencer with heavily curated content, being featured on the site was a goal for many wedding photographers from around the world.
With an estimated 18 million monthly visits and over a million followers on their social media accounts like Instagram, Style Me Pretty was a well-known source for couples planning their weddings. In a statement posted to their website and social accounts, the site encouraged readers to “view and save” anything from the site before the end of the month, suggesting the site itself will be permanently inaccessible after April 30. They noted that it was a difficult decision, but “even the most perfect of weddings must eventually come to a close.”
Style Me Pretty opporates under Oath Inc.’s banner, a subsidiary of Verizon. Oath also operates TechCrunch, HuffPost, AOL, Tumblr, Yahoo! banner sites, and more. No further reason beyond today’s initial statment was given for the closure.
