Puffed Up with Love: Crossing Off the Final To-Dos, Part 2
As we started counting down the days until our wedding, the race was on to finish up those remaining to-do items. Little did we know that our photographer and Mother Nature would add a few more chores to our list.
Marquee Letters
Of all the recent wedding trends, I love, love, love marquee letters. But I hate, hate, hate the price of them.
Yes, you can DIY them. But neither Mr. Puffer nor I have the skills or power tools to do what I was seeing on Pinterest. But a grocery trip to Walmart one night changed that. There we found some metal letters, sans lights, that would work nearly* perfectly in a marquee sign.
All photos in this post are personal.
I purchased some battery-operated fairy lights for $5 each (with coupon) at Michaels. I used Scotch tape to secure the lights temporarily around the outline of each letter. Once I was OK with the placement, I super glued the lights onto the metal and removed the tape.
In the end, I loved these lights! They cost less than $30 to make all three and looked great on the porch steps at our venue.
Kids? Treat Bags
Formal clothing, a late night, and lots of waiting around can make the best behaved kid a little squirrely. As a thank you to our kids under the age of 10, Puff and I created special favor bags just for them. Most of the items we put in were just penny candy and toys we bought at a party-supply store, but we also included:
crazy straws for their drinks at the wedding
crayons and packets of card stock for drawing pictures...
